FRAMEWORK artist development programme

Framework is an artist development programme that took place between November 2016 and January 2017 following an open call. Artists living within 8 miles of Blackpool town centre were invited to apply to develop new approaches to making performance work.

The selected artists Curtis Myers, The Darling Invasion, Fanni Compton, Natalie Duymun, Katherine Lovejoy, Ruth E. Cockburn and Sean Patrick Brown applied to develop their own independent work as solo artists. They received access to:

-Mentoring across four weekends by the artist mentor Peader Kirk
-£200 bursary
-Technical support
-Free rehearsal space
-Industry guidance and mentoring from Form and LeftCoast
-A final private sharing at Grand Theatre Studio
-Film and photo documentation
-Participation in a supportive network of peers

Form produced and presented this special opportunity in response to conversations that took place at Form Theatre Discussion Groups, where theatre makers in Blackpool discussed their desire for more opportunities to make theatre and performance locally.

Framework was supported by LeftCoast, Grand Theatre Blackpool, and Arts Council England.
